I am an academic librarian and fitness instructor at Brock University in Canada. I am involved in library marketing and liaison services for English Literature, Communications, Film, and Popular Culture.

My favourite novels include A Month in the Country by JL Carr, Never Let me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, The Remains of the Day also by Kazuo Ishiguro, How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff, and Tom’s Midnight Garden by Philippa Pearce.

    Hey Justine:

    I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your opinion piece in this Month’s issue of American Libraries.

    I think we librarians need to be existentialists and constantly redefine ourselves moment to moment.

    Like you, I had some idyllic preconceptions about librarianship (of the wing chair and wainscot variety) that seem pretty silly in retrospect.
